A small oil on panel portrait of Franklin, attributed to painter John Trumbull, based on the Cochin-St. Aubin fur-cap engraving of 1777. It was among the images in John Trumbull’s list of works painted before his first trip to Europe (1779-80). This painting is now in the collection of the Yale University Art Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut.
